The California Junior Tour, Presented by TaylorMade Golf, is California's premier fall- winter junior golf tour, offering twenty, 36-hole, weekend tournaments from September through April. The 2008-09 season consists of a Fall Series, from September through December and a Winter Series, from January through April. Each series offers nine tournaments, followed by a 36-hole Championship Tournament. The 2008 Fall Championship Tournament will be at La Costa Resort and Spa, Carlsbad; and the 2009 Spring Championship will be at Coyote Creek Golf Club, San Jose.
With tournament sites scattered from the San Francisco Bay to Rancho Mirage, El Cajon and Las Vegas, the tour schedule is designed to allow easy access for as many juniors as possible at reasonable cost. Weekend dates allow for tournament participation with minimal interference with classes or other school activities. Most families will find one or more locations close enough to home to offer the convenience of a daily commute. Others combine a tournament with a family weekend mini-vacation.
Your annual membership guarantees an opportunity to play in any, or all events, subject only to space availability at time of registration. Participants in the Fall Championship and Spring Championship tournaments will qualify based upon their tournament finishes in any of the series events. Any member with a tournament finish within the ranges set forth below becomes automatically qualified for the Championship tournament at the end of that series.
- Boys 15-18: Finish 1 through T5
- Girls 15-18: Finish 1 through T2
- Boys 11-14: Finish 1 through T3
- Girls 11-14: All tournament winners
Alternates for vacant spots, in each age division, will be selected based upon each member's highest finish and the date of that finish in any series tournament. Each Championship field of 100 players will include approximately 48 boys and 21 girls in the 15 -18 age divisions and 24 boys and 9 girls in the 11-14 age divisions.
Spectators are allowed on the course for all tournaments, unless prohibited by management of the host golf course. Spectators must register with the tournament committee prior to play, sign a waiver of liability and comply with the California Junior Tour spectator rules. Spectators under 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult and must present a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Spectators must not offer advice or assistance of any kind to any player during the round.
Spectators may rent a motorized cart, subject to the rules and requirements of the host golf course management and the California Junior Tour Spectator Rules. It is best to call ahead to the golf proshop to determine the availability of spectator carts.
